Not too easy, not to hard... JUST RIGHT! Jan 21, 2010 I purchased this book to learn a few fingerstyle blues tunes and it did not disappoint me.
I have been playing fingerstyle guitar for about 3 years and consider myself an early intermediate. I like to work on difficult tunes, but I also like easier ones that only take a little work to master. This book falls into the 2nd category. If you have some fingerstyle experience, you can work your way through this book quite rapidly.
The song selections are good and they each introduce a different style or technique. You can apply these techniques or riffs to other songs or blues jams.
This is a fun book.

Nice starting Mar 12, 2009 This book contains a set of songs in standard, open G and open D tunings. Some of them are played with slide.
All songs in the book are included in the CD at normal and slow speed each one.
The songs are not very easy, I think you need to practice it a lot, but difficulty increases as you advance through them. In anyway, songs are less complex than the ones in: Mel Bay Duck Baker's Fingerstyle Blues Guitar 101
I find this book very interesting: different tunings and techniques, and nice songs.

The funnest material to play at this level Dec 14, 2008 The one negative review is what prompted me to write about this book. And it's not that I disagree with what it said, it's just that this is what the book is and I like it.
He is correct that it's beginners stuff, and songs "in the style" of the blues masters. That's true, but that suits me just fine. I had worked through Arnie Berle's "Beginning Fingerstyle Blues Guitar Book" and used this book to find some songs to apply that to, and to learn a few things. It really fit the bill, these songs were really fun to play.

disappointing Dec 24, 2007 Beginners book. Not one to build a repetoire. Few songs of the real Blues Masters.
Most are compositions by the author "in the style of" some of the Masters. Too bad.

Simply the best intro to fingerstyle blues Mar 09, 2007 Unlike many such books, these are fairly easy (but plenty challenging for the intermediate fingerstyle player) and sound great. Hours of fun. You have to get this book.
